Painting — a way to feel the world
For me, painting is a way to feel and see the world. I am inspired by the sea, light and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. My paintings reflect what is close and familiar to me — my beloved Liepāja, the sea, the beach and flowers.
I enjoy painting portraits because I believe people are the most fascinating subjects in the world. Every face holds a unique story, emotions and life experiences that I try to reveal through colour.
Watercolour is especially close to my heart. Like light, it is delicate and unpredictable — colours flow, blend and create one-of-a-kind shades. Watercolour allows me to capture the mood of a moment that will have changed in the next instant.
I studied art at Liepāja University, have held several solo exhibitions and participated in the art biennial celebrating Liepāja's 400th anniversary, as well as the Karosta Festival. My works are held in private collections in Latvia, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and elsewhere around the world.
